It is more than a month since my last post. I mentioned in that post that I planned to do a "Surreal Saguaro" painting. I started it soon after but I have not been in much of a painting mood so it took me a month to complete because I only worked on it an hour at a time every so often. I used to do one in a couple of days when I lived in Tucson. It was one of my biggest sellers and I had many commissions for this painting. I lost count of how many versions that I have done. Sizes ranged from a tiny 7"X 5" to a very large 4' X 2' and everything in between. This one is a 16X20. Here is a photo of it.
So what else have I been doing during this COVID 19 quarantine besides binge watching Netflix? Well, the answer to that is I have spent much time doodling while I listen to books on CD. Since my last post I filled one book and started another. I have done over 75 doodles in the past month. There are so many that I no longer scan them into my computer.
One day I got bored with doodling and looked for something else to do. I came up with the idea to crochet a koozie for my soda pop can.
Roger enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles and ordered a bunch online. (We are accumulating quite a collection). He does most of them and I occasionally put in a few pieces but one day I decided to do one all by myself. This is it.
Another day I baked a batch of pecan sandies. Keep in mind that I never much enjoyed baking cookies but I found this really simple recipe that had very few ingredients so tried it. It made 48 cookies but by the time I took this photo many of them were gone.
Other things I have been doing is taking walks with Roger 2 or 3 times a day weather permitting. I helped him design a stain glass window that is going to go in the door to our patio. Like everyone else I have been spring cleaning and of course cooking. It seems like I no sooner cook one meal that it is time for another. Roger and I play games together and also computer games. We have done some home improvement projects that I will show you in another blog post. It is easy to keep busy. We will hang in there and in the mean time I pray that everyone will stay safe.
