A new painting and an old painting

I did one painting since my last post.  I saw a picture on Facebook that was my inspiration for this painting.  Here is that photo.

I did not do an exact copy of the photo.  What I did was use a pattern of bird painting I did in the past but changed the pallet of colors to match those in the photo.  Size of the painting is 14X11 and it is a stretch canvas.  I call it "Pretty in Pink".

The original painting of this pattern was a small 7X5 painting which I did a couple of years ago.  Here is a photo of that painting.

I wish I could figure out why a photo of  14X11 painting and one of a 7X5 painting show up as the same size when posted here.  One of the little mysteries of life.  LOL

Back in January of 1996 shortly before we moved to AZ I did a number of canvas paintings as gifts for friends and family.  I chose canvas instead of giving them craft items because my dad, who was moving with us, had packed up all his tools and could not make any thing for me.  Also, coincidentally, my local craft store was going out of business and had a huge sale on canvas and frames.  I had forgotten about doing these paintings until a few days ago when I was at Mark and Leslie's house and saw this painting hanging there.  I'm glad I dated it on the back because I had no idea when I had done it until I saw the date.  That triggered my memory and I remembered spending the month of January doing a number of canvas paintings in my free time from packing up for the move.  Here is that painting.  It is a large 24X20.  I did not give any of the paintings I did back then titles.  Now I give every painting I do a title and decided this one needs a name so am calling it "Spring Flowers".

I have no idea of what I will paint next.  I have a number of ideas that I am tossing around.

Wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day.
