It is not often I have to do a "re-do" on a painting but that is what I had to do on the one below. This is the peacock painting I did for our son. He requested a grey back ground with a red border. I did what he wanted and thought "OH, NO!". It looked very Goth to me. I could picture this peacock running around the Addams Family yard. I emailed a photo to Brian & Sarah and they felt the same and suggested a red background. So, instead of doing a whole new painting, I decided to try to change the background on the original. It worked and we are all happy now.

Next I did the dragonfly painting that I mentioned in a previous post and guess what? While I like the painting, I don't like the dark frame so I am thinking of refinishing it. So...another re-do! I'll post a photo of the painting in the redone frame when I complete it.

Here it is in the same frame with a new finish. Much better! |
One more project finished. I decided to start working on some small stuff to show at the Sheraton reception which will be at the end of April. I have a number of small boxes that I want to paint. Here is the first one which is a small oak trinket box.
I completed three project plus cleaned and reorganized my work shop in the past couple of weeks which makes me happy! Also, Roger completed four stained glass windows and is ready to start another on. We may be retired but we keep busy!
