Even though we had so much company and I am recovering from a broken wrist, I still found time to paint.
I finished the "Forest Royalty" painting I mentioned in my last blog post. Here is the new version.
I also completed two paintings in my new horse series. The first is a 16X20 titled "Mighty Mustang". The second one is a new version of "Run With the Wind" size 12X12.
Along with these three paintings I had a commission for a domino train station. This customer is from IN and has ordered 5 of the train stations in the past month. She has requested that I paint a name on the back side of each one. Here is the newest one that I painted for her.
It is a month since I broke my wrist and had surgery. I had the stitches removed last week and an X-ray was taken. Here is a photo of the X-ray showing the plate that is now in my wrist. I wonder if I will have trouble going through security at the air port?
I am healing nicely and have lots of mobility in my fingers. I am still not allowed to pick up anything heavy and have to wear the wrist brace most of the time. I can take it off occasionally to treat the scar and to do some light therapy. I have it off now while I use the keyboard. I will have another X-ray in two weeks. The PA said that I may be able to go back to normal activities with out the brace if things progress as good as they have been. I am happy to say I have had almost no pains since this all began. I feel blessed that it is my left wrist and that I have been able to paint with no interruptions.
Currently, I am working on a peacock painting that I will enter in a small art contest held by the BAL gallery. Since I recently did another peacock painting, I decided to do a peacock series along with my new horse series.
So far, I have been using patterns of paintings that I have done in the past that were popular in both AZ and MI. Now that I am in NC I have a new audience that has never seen these paintings but I am getting bored with doing the same thing multiple times. For that reason, I am going to design some new patterns for both horses and peacocks. You can look forward to seeing some new original work coming soon.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
