I have been really busy getting ready for my next trip but I still made time to finish a couple more items.
I did a similar butterfly tray in the past and it recently sold so I did another one. I bought a number of these trays last year at a rummage and have sold most of them. I only have one left that is unpainted
This is a 9" square wooden plate. I love painting flowers and roses are my favorite. Most of my rose paintings are of red roses. This time I decided to change things and do a yellow rose.
I mentioned that I will be traveling soon. This is going to be a long road trip so it will be awhile until I am able to do another blog post. I am taking my sketch book and sharpies with me so will have lots of new doodles to show you when I return in mid June.

A new desert scene table
This small oval table will be going to the SAAG Gallery today to replace the desert scene table I sold at the gallery opening reception. I had two other people interested in it so did another. Here is a photo of the new table. You can see the other table at the end of my last post.
I am undecided on what to paint next. We will be leaving soon on another trip and I am thinking more about getting ready for the trip rather than painting but I still have time to do a few more projects before we leave so I'm sure I'll come up with something to do.

Two new craft items
Now that the new SAAG Gallery is open I need more craft items. I sell more of those than wall paintings at the gallery so must have a supply on hand to replace what has sold. Here are photos of two projects I finished in the past few days.
This is a medium sized bowl with a "Pretty & Prickly" cactus that I painted. I love the way the color of the cactus flowers seem to POP in a 3D way.
This is my old stand-by "Surreal Saguaro" painted on a cutting board. I never get tired of painting this design.
It is so nice to have the gallery open again and I'm happy to say that the gallery had lots of people come in on the first two days we were open and lots of sales were made. I showed the small table I painted with a "Desert Oasis" pattern and it sold the first day. Other people showed an interest in it so I am now working on a small oval table with a similar design that I will take in at the end of the week. I'll post a photo as soon as it is done. Here is a photo of the one that sold.

The New SAAG Gallery
Today is opening day for the new SAAG Gallery. We had to close last summer because another tenant wanted the space we were in. We are happy to say we are finally opening our new gallery. We are still located in the Casas Adobe Plaza at Ina and Oracle. Our new shop is directly across the breezeway from our previous shop. The new gallery is light and bright and a better layout from what we had before. It is a happy place filled with wonderful art and gifts created by 35 artists from the Southern Arizona Arts Guild. Our grand re-opening reception is tomorrow, May 2 from 4 to 6. Come and see the new gallery and meet the artists. Our summer hours will be from 11 to 7 Tuesday though Saturday. With Mother's Day coming soon now would be the time to shop for something special for Mom. Hope to see you there. Here are photos of my display:
