Splash!

I will be one of four artists creating a four foot square painting during this event. They will be auctioned off later in the evening. This will be a fun time with good food, music, fashions and art. All proceeds will go to support various art programs. For more information go to the SAACA website.

Another large collage painting

"Colorful Critter Collage"
26X21
I completed the companion painting to "Cacti Collage". This one features southwest critters done in my colorful style. You can see the other one a few posts back. These two paintings are large. I am hoping to show them next year at my exhibition at the Ranch House Gallery which will be in April. I said hoping because if I have the opportunity to sell them before the exhibition I will do that and paint another version. Right now I have the time to do that but later in the year when I am running out of time I may just hide them away and save them for the exhibition. I have an exciting painting adventure coming up next Saturday but will save that news for my next post which should come in a few days.

New Versions of Sold Paintings

"Southwest Still Life"
16X20

"Sunflowers"
8X10

"Talavera Roadrunner"
10X13
I completed these three paintings this week. If they look familiar it is because they are new versions of paintings I did recently that sold. I've mentioned before that I don't do prints. All my work is original. When I sell a painting I Just paint another similar one. Speaking of selling paintings, another one sold today. It was "Terracotta Desert", a 16X20. I started a new painting today. I am doing my critter collage painting as a companion to the cacti collage painting. I'll post photo when it is done.

Cacti Collage

Cacti Collage
26X21
This is my latest painting. I know it is on the "busy" side but it is a large canvas which can handle the subject matter. I need some larger paintings for the exhibit next year. This one should be good for that exhibit which will feature cacti and desert critters. It will also be appropriate for use on greeting cards. My next few paintings will be new versions of paintings I sold recently. I had wanted to use them for the exhibit but had an opportunity to sell them. "A bird in the hand" as they say. Never pass up a sale!
